The Last Effort
Coded PVC, paint, buckles.
2025
When I found a dismantled Berlin trash bin in front of my studio, its design instantly reminded me of a backpack, the kind of eccentric Berlin merchandise tourists buy, like BVG underwear or Currywurst handbags.
After my latest attempt to collaborate with a backpack designer failed, I decided to make it myself.
The result is recognizable, imperfect, absurd, and maybe functional.
We often treat rejection like garbage, something to hide or throw away. But what happens when we carry it instead? When we make it visible, integrate it, and let it become part of our process?
Rejection doesn’t end an idea, and it definitely doesn’t close a door. It opens infinitely more that you weren’t aware of.
