Unaccepted Paintings Series

Canvas, mixed techniques, wooden crate, museum refusal letter

2025

The series of paintings is exploring the concept of rejection as an approval of the conceptual work itself. The canvases are painted with a simple text:

"Unaccepted by the Neue Nationalgalerie" and "Unaccepted by the Berlinische Galerie."

Each painting was placed in a wooden crate and shipped to its corresponding museum as a donation. The works were returned to the sender accompanied by formal letters of refusal from the respective institutions.

The museums’ refusal became a form of approval of the project. The work was acknowledged, not in the traditional sense of validation, but in a deeper sense: it was seen, processed, and answered.
